SFYC - Thursday Night Kite Series 2005

From yesterday through September, every Thursday night there will be a kitesurfing event at the St. Francis Yacht Club. I'll post the details for participation later, but for now thought I'd share this link to pics from yesterday's event. Had several Bay area locals stylin' big time including Chip Wasson (brought the sport to the Bay Area) and Jono Buys who was cranking big air as usual. Check out:

    St. Francis Yacht Club Thursday Night Kiting

    This Thursday April 7th will kickoff the 2005 Thursday Night Kiting Series at the St. Francis Yacht Club. Kiting will be scheduled every other Thursday evening starting April 21st and running to September 9th. The events will include Freestyle, Course Racing, Slalom Racing, and Distance Racing.

    Thursday April 7th will be a warm-up freestyle session starting at 5:30 PM. A mandatory skippers meeting will be held at 4:30PM on the race deck at the St. Francis Yacht Club. There will be more information available on the Thursday Night Kiting Series at the skippers meeting.

        Not sure, but I know there'll be kitesurfers :-)

        We had an awesome afternoon at Crissy yesterday too. The winds were on and the swells by the south tower of the GG Br. were out of control. Right where that boat had it's lil' incident last weekend was even gnarlier, but it quickly got overrun w/nearly 20 kiters having an epic time.
