Whats a good rule of thumb for wind speed for an Sherman morning session? My job is a bit flexible with start time.... I'm thinking marker 14 showing 18K before making the drive?

Also, is Berkeley dependent upon wind direction? What am I looking for, SSW?

FInally, same question for OB...

For Sherman any time you see the meter at 13K+ you're good to go. It's not likely that the meter will over read. There is one direction however where it's not worth going no matter what the wind speed but I forget off-hand, hopefully someone else can chime in.

For Berkeley, W or WSW should work. The only thing however is that the meters are reading fm the marina. There tends to be a bubble that forms approx. 100 feet circumference fm shore, where the there's no wind in the late afternoon. So becareful when you go out and be conscious that this can happen so you don't get too far and realize that you'll be swimming in ;-) Hopefully Ollie will chime in here as he's a regular there.

OB is good NW, WNW, W, WSW, SW. Meters there are fairly unreliable, but anything around 15Kts and you're good to go. If it's WSW or SW it's best to ride down by Sloat as the water is generally smoother there and the waves provide a good riding angle.
