Re: Peter Lynn Venom
Mon, April 25, 2005 - 12:35 PMMan, I haven't seen a Peter Lynn kite ini the Bay area in a long time. Very nicely crafted kites, just not the best for getting big air. -

Re: Peter Lynn Venom
Thu, April 28, 2005 - 10:35 AMStability has always been the prime feature of Lynn kites. They're aerodynamically superior to bladder kites, and hence have a smoother and more equal pull. Having said that, that's what makes it difficult to get the grunt movements that help w/getting big air or doing kite loops. It's in part the instability of the bladder kites that give them the edge in freestyle tricks.
One nice thing about the Peter Lynns however, is the range of wind that they support. Looking at the charts, it feels like one could get away w/2 kites rather than a 3 or 4 kite quiver as is generally appropriate w/bladder kites. Tradeoffs, tradeoffs, tradeoffs :-) -

Re: Peter Lynn Venom
Thu, April 28, 2005 - 2:47 PMIt would appear that the new Venom is quite popular worldwide. I have been waiting 5 weeks for delivery now. I leave for Hatteras on the 13th, and am hoping it comes before then! -
